ABOUT US

NICE TO MEET YOU
Welcome to Speedfly Diaries! We’re two novices figuring out this sport as we go, sharing what we learn along the way.
Whether it’s our mistakes, small wins, or useful tips we pick up, this site is our way of passing that knowledge on. If you’re just getting into speedflying, hopefully, our experiences help make your own journey a little easier (or at least more entertaining).
And if you’re already experienced—who knows? Maybe you’ll pick up something new, or better yet, share some of your own insights with us!

When did you start speedflying?
Around the time I started skydiving in 2019 I discovered the sport through YouTube. It was hard to find out information online and I had messaged a few speedflying schools in the UK about getting started but they wanted paragliding experience or 200 skydives. It was 4 years later in 2023 when a friend from the dropzone recommended a course and I haven’t looked back.
Why speedflying?
Being surrounded by the mountains is captivating and speedflying gives me yet another way to explore and experience them. That added to the fact that flying down the side of a mountain is awesome.
What’s next?
I am so so so new to the sport so for me it’s just about flying and learning as much as possible. I set up this website to document the journey to hopefully help other newcomers to the sport.

When did you start speedflying?
I bought my wing in 2024, after talking to my friends who had few flights under their belt, I groundhandled one of their wings and I was hooked. I did my first downhill descents that year in the lake district and headed out to Garda that September.
Why speedflying?
I’m already one of the best skydivers at my DZ so I needed a new hobby. I chose speedflying because I saw how cool my friends looked and I just wanted to be like them. Also I can drop it into every conversation to let people know I have huge cahones.
What’s next?
Flying, flying and flying some more… I’m keen to explore as much of the UK as possible and try some speed soaring. I also need to write my “About Me” section for this website instead of having Brad write it for me.
